Our Story

Leave The Key Probate Services was founded by Long Island father and son Larry and Ben Wagner. Following the death of Larry’s parents, the family dealt with probate firsthand and was not satisfied with the lack of compassion shown by other real estate investors who swarmed in with offers that didn’t meet their needs.

Purchasing inherited properties had always been a large part of their real estate business, Leave The Key Homebuyers, and they decided to expand the company to incorporate client-oriented probate advisory services, including a no-cost concierge program. This experience led to the birth of Leave The Key Probate Services which has developed into the premier holistic probate solutions company in New York.

Larry Wagner

Owner, Father

Prior to founding Leave The Key, Larry spent 30 years in the financial advisory industry dealing with retirees. With an older client base, he frequently helped their grieving families navigate the probate and estate settlement process. His Certification in Long Term Care (CLTC) and as a Senior Transition Specialist (CSTS) have made him an expert when dealing with seniors. He combined that career with 15 years of experience purchasing inherited property to truly understand the full picture.

Ben Wagner

Owner, Son

Before getting involved in real estate, Ben spent over 10 years working in the technology field at a range of startup companies. After his grandfather’s passing, Ben decided to move back home to New York to join his father. Ben is a Certified Senior Transition Specialist (CSTS) and uses that education to make sure Leave The Key is equipped to serve seniors and their families.
